Starting at Kirstenbosch, the route goes up Skeleton Gorge to the Helly Huchison Reservoir. We walk around the reservoir and visit the old Waterworks Museum and take a well deserved rest. From there we head back around the reservoir and down Nursery Ravine which takes us back into Kirstenbosch Gardens. Elevation climbed = 750m, Duration approx. 4hrs
6 Hour Hike
Once again we start at Kirstenbosch and head up Skeleton Gorge to the Helly Huchison Reservoir. From there we follow the Smuts Track to Maclears Beacon which marks the halfway point and offers amazing 360 degree views of Cape Town. From here onwards it's a fairly flat walk along the top of Table Mountain with awesome views. For the more energetic, you have the option of hiking down Platterklip Gorge or the more adventurous India Venster. Alternatively, you can take the cable car back down to save your legs. There is also the option to experience the worlds highest abseil from the top of Table Mountain. An experience not to be missed. Elevation climbed = 1030m, Duration approx. 6hrs
